The Manufacturing Engineering Group in the World Wide Operations facility of Valence Energy-Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. is seeking a senior level graduate electrical, mechanical, or software engineer, specializing in Automated Test System development.
The ME Group consists of staff members who conceive, design, build, test, deploy and maintain automated test solutions to solve challenges of manufacturing premium energy storage systems.
This position is located in Suzhou China, and is open to local talent as well as others outside of this geographic area.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning and deployment of test systems incorporating standards-based processes and methodologies that provide for timely, cost-effective, low maintenance, high performance test solutions.
The candidate shall demonstrate characteristics that foster team development, initiative to take on challenging assignments and create opportunity where none exists.
The candidate will be considered a technical expert in testing and analysis techniques and will mentor and challenge a team of test development engineers, to further develop ability to support manufacturing and testing of premium energy storage systems.

Test Process Strategy – Responsible for planning an overall test strategy. Focus will be to develop common strategy for core test development tools, core test frames, core software, core hardware and fixtures, and standardized reporting and analysis.
Consideration shall be given to standardization, re-usability, maintainability, cycle time, up-time, yield and costs, and reporting to support manufacturing operations.
Test Design – Responsible for supporting test design activities by suggesting design concepts that aide in standardization, robustness and reliability of testing. This may include concept sketching, cost analysis, general use of core disciplines, development of data collection systems, optimized packaging, and statistical analysis.
New Business Opportunity – Timely and accurate ATE estimates to support customer quotes. This will include cost of ownership, cycle time/capacity analysis, and time to deployment.
New Product Introduction – Responsible for developing ATE processes, using core ATE tools and methods, based on product design documents.
Documentation – Responsible for design, deployment and management of an all encompassing ATE system documentation and archival program.
Position requires a four year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, mechanical, electrical or software; however an advanced degree is preferred.
Greater than five years experience in the design and efficient use of ATE systems.
Hands on experience with analogy and digital circuitry, communication circuits & protocols, micro-processor based products, and strong system level software planning and programming skills with LabView, Visual Basic, C and C+.
Strong technical writing and communication skills are essential.
Understanding of measurement capability and control.
User of statistical analysis tools.
Some foreign travel will be necessary.
