We created this video to demonstrate the safety aspects of our lithium iron magnesium phosphate technology compared to traditional metal-oxide battery technology. The video shows ballistics tests and standard industry tests performed on a lithium-ion cobalt-oxide 2590 battery and on 18650 cells, as well as the same products that utilize Valence’s lithium iron magnesium phosphate technology. These tests serve as real life illustrations of what could happen if a lithium-ion battery was crushed, punctured, dropped or if there was a manufacturing defect.
