From Optare’s Press Release Apr 4, 2016:
Scotland’s first electric bus service celebrates 100,000 miles
The first fully-electric bus to be used for a local bus service in Scotland recently celebrated 100,000 miles in service. The bus launched in November 2013 by Keith Brown MSP, Minister for Transport and Veterans, operates on the service, which links the ferry ports at Cairnryan to the railway station in Stranraer.
Optare electric buses have zero tailpipe emissions and are proven to reduce well to wheel carbon footprint by over 50% in comparison with equivalent diesels. Operating and maintenance costs are also significantly lower than an equivalent diesel engine bus and recent independent testing has proven the Optare electric bus is one of the most efficient currently in service in the UK.

Press Release from simplygo.com Apr 4, 2016:
New Buses for Tynedale Links Services
We have invested more than £500,000 in a fleet of brand-new environmentally friendly single deck buses for our rural services in Hexham and West Northumberland (North East England).
Local MP Guy Opperman said: “It’s great to see a local bus company investing not just in its city and urban services but in its country buses too. Tynedale Links provides an important service, joining together communities in Allendale, Haltwhistle, Bellingham and Stamfordham and providing essential connections and buses onwards towards the rest of the region.”
Kevin Carr, our managing director, said: “Since 2010, we’ve replaced Hexham’s fleet of buses on our ‘Ten’ service along the Tyne Valley not once but twice. New single deck buses proved so popular that they were replaced with new double deckers. Now our local ‘Tynedale Links’ buses have been replaced with new low carbon emission buses that provide a better customer experience and are good for the environment. Hexham’s bus fleet is now one of the cleanest in the country.”
